OWN

is a new magazine that is being put together for the very first time during the Art For Networks exhibition and will evolve into a fully fledged POD publication whilst at Turnpike Gallery in Leigh, and therafter as part of the touring exhibit. (Chapter Arts,FruitMarket Gallery - complete)

We have been hatching the ideas for OWN for several months and there are many people involved and actively thinking about the sort of magazine they would most like to see and how to handle the design, editorial, publishing, production and sales.

Our editorial focus is an exploration of Open Wireless Networks, public telecoms, the internet, issues of ownership and rights how they are contested and legislated.. used and abused.

We each have our special interests, so there will be a quite eclectic of range material to explore. You too will have ideas that you might like to try out and include in an issue of your OWN.

The OWN installation is a special 'exhibition edition' and has been constructed with your participation in mind, an open invitation for your contribution, question and interference.

Scattered across the display and stashed in the bins at the base you will find a series of editorial elements, some explaining details of production, our focus of interest and others illustrating the work of those exhibiting Art for Networks. See the preview movie [140kbs realplayer]
